Bologna is famous all over the world for its cuisine. In the city there is a great number of restaurants, trattorias and taverns that serve local specialties; but in the hills, too, you can enjoy our traditional dishes and try, if you have never tasted them before, our typical tigelle and crescentine, that we stuff with cold cuts and cheese.
Here are some of our favourite places:
Da Vito a San Luca, via di Monte Albano 5, Bologna
Excellent pizza and Emilian cuisine, quite close to the Santuario della Beata Vergine di San Luca. It is open all days except Tuesdays, from 9:00 AM onwards on Sundays and public holidays, and from 12:00 AM onwards on working days.
It is only 900 m. from the Antico Podere San Luca (3 minutes by car, or 15 on foot)
Agriturismo Granoantico, via di Casaglia 68/5, Bologna
Bolognese cuisine, tigelle and crescentine, with a splendid view of the hills.
This place is open all days of the week except Monday: on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday only for supper; on Saturday and Sunday, for both lunch and supper.
It is 3 km from the Antico Podere San Luca (about 8 minutes by car, or 50 on foot).
Ristorante Ca’Shin, via Cavaioni 1, Bologna
Seasonal and traditional cuisine, vegetarian dishes, to be enjoyed indoors or in the garden, vegetable garden or veranda. It is always open, and is 5 km from the Antico Podere San Luca (about 10 minutes by car, or slightly more than an hour on foot).
Trattoria Monte Donato, via Siepelunga 118, Bologna
Traditional, farmhouse-style cuisine, with a lovely view of Bologna that you can enjoy both during both the warm season and the cold one. This trattoria is open all days for lunch and supper, except on Monday, its closing day. It is 11 km from the Antico Podere San Luca (about 25 minutes by car, depending on the traffic).
